As the saying goes, "New year, new look," and Scientific Space has also put on a new coat. Wait, why does it feel like nothing has changed? Don’t worry, please read on.
First, let’s talk a bit about the history. Scientific Space began in March 2009. One of the most important reasons I became obsessed with blogging back then was because of the theme I am currently using, which was originally created by geekg.com. The color scheme of this theme is very classic and immediately attracted me. Of course, it wasn’t just me; at that time, various blogging platforms and even CMS portal platforms, including WordPress, PJBlog, etc., all imitated this theme, which shows how classic it is. Later, someone ported this theme to Typecho, which is why I switched to Typecho—partly because of Typecho’s lightness and efficiency, and partly because of the existence of this classic theme.
I have been using this theme since 2009. Over the past two years, I briefly switched to other themes, but ultimately returned to this one. Over the last 7 years, front-end technology has continuously evolved; HTML5, responsive design, etc., have all become mainstream. I have always wanted to upgrade this theme, but unfortunately, I have no knowledge of front-end development. Recently, I invited a front-end expert, and after about two weeks of work, the theme upgrade was finally completed.
What has changed? If you are viewing this on a desktop browser, you might not notice much difference. However, you can try resizing the browser window, and you will see it. The most obvious point is the addition of responsive design, which automatically adapts to browsers with different resolutions. Now, you can also comfortably read this space using tablets, mobile phones, and other mobile browsers. Of course, for articles containing a large number of formulas, it is still recommended to use a wide screen for the best viewing experience.
If you visit this blog frequently and find layout issues upon returning, it is likely due to browser caching. You simply need to clear your browser cache.
In addition to this, some other adjustments have been made, such as the optimization of the blog post list, comment pagination, and the beautification of the in-article table of contents. The theme has not been fully tested, so if there are any problems, I hope everyone will provide feedback. I look forward to your continued support and welcome your valuable ideas.
