Peking University was not very “friendly” this time. The results for the “Huayue” and “Zhuoyue” alliances were already out yesterday, but I only managed to check the PKU results today (I am not sure if they were released last night or this morning). I waited anxiously all day. After much anticipation, they are finally out.
I regret to inform everyone that, based on the current situation, there is no hope for the PKU independent enrollment. With a total score of 271, it is very difficult to pass...
Regarding the scores for each subject, Mathematics most closely matched my own estimation. Among all the questions, I only missed the 18-point trigonometry problem, and the score indicates that the 18 points deducted were exactly from that—meaning everything I did was correct! Chinese was a bit lower than expected; I estimated I would get 70, but it seems there is still significant room for improvement. For English, the main issue was that I didn’t finish many questions; I only completed questions worth about 70 points in total. As for Physics, the focus was on optics, relativity, and quantum mechanics—topics that are simply not taught in our curriculum here. Although I have self-studied them, it was still insufficient. Chemistry, however, was higher than I imagined, because I remember just doing it casually (due to lack of time); I suppose most of what I did was correct.
Thank you all for your previous support and trust. Saying this doesn’t mean I am discouraged. In fact, I had already anticipated that I wouldn’t pass. For a child from the countryside, participating in such an exam is clearly a bit overwhelming. On the other hand, I also know that independent enrollment is not the only path. Therefore, overall, the gains from this exam were quite rich. I will work even harder because of this experience. After all, chasing one’s own dreams is what matters most. And a dream is more than just a university.
