July 15th was our last day as junior high school students. After that day, we left junior high school behind. I still clearly remember everyone’s reluctance to part during the days of the Senior High School Entrance Examination. Before this, I was always carefree and unattached when it came to parting. However, in this separation, I feel a bit of sadness. Perhaps I have grown up, having a deeper understanding of friendship and cherishing it more.
May friendship last forever!

Auld Lang Syne
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne! For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syneAnd surely ye’ll be your pint stowp!
And surely I’ll be mine!
And we’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet,
For auld lang syneFor auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syneWe twa hae run about the braes,
An pou’d the gowans fine
But we’ve wander’d mony a weary fitt,
Sin’ auld lang syneFor auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syneWe twa hae paidl’d in the burn,
Frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar’d,
Sin auld lang syneFor auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syneAnd there’s a hand, my trusty fiere!
And gie’s a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right gude-willie waught,
For auld lang syneFor auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet
For auld lang syne

the lyric of Auld Lang
Syne
Friendship
Forever
— A classic song from the movie “Waterloo
Bridge”.
Auld Lang Syne is a very famous poem. The original text is in Scots, which translates literally to English as “old long since” or “times gone by”, meaning days long past. Auld Lang Syne was recorded by the 18th-century Scottish poet Robert Burns based on oral traditions from local elders. This poem was later set to music. In addition to the original Scots, this song has been translated into many languages. In China, it is commonly known as “Long Live Friendship”. People can usually hum the melody, but most can only sing a small part of the lyrics.
In many Western countries, this song is usually sung on New Year’s Eve, symbolizing bidding farewell to the old year and welcoming the new. Its tone is not as sentimental as the Chinese version. In many Asian regions, it is used as a theme song in school graduation ceremonies or funerals, symbolizing the emotions of farewell or ending.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And
never brought to mind?
How can old friends be forgotten, and not
remembered in the heart?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And days
of auld long syne?
How can old friends be forgotten? Friendship
lasts forever.
And here’s a hand, my trusty frien’ And gie’s
a hand o’ thine
We were once of the same mind, let us clasp
hands tightly,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet. For auld
lang syne.
Let us raise a glass and drink deeply,
friendship lasts forever.
For auld lang syne my dear, For auld lang
syne,
Friendship is always in my heart, my close
friend,
We’ll take a cup o’ kindness yet For auld
lang syne.
Raise a glass and drink deeply, sing together
of friendship lasting forever.
Friendship Forever (Interlude from “Waterloo Bridge”, Scottish Folk Song)
General Meaning of the Lyrics:
How can old friends be forgotten
Can the heart not rejoice
How can old friends be forgotten
Friendship lasts forever
Long live friendship, friends, long live friendship
Raise a glass and drink deeply, sing together in praise of friendship lasting forever
We once wandered all day on the green hills of our hometown
We also traveled everywhere through hardships and toil
Long live friendship, friends, long live friendship
Raise a glass and drink deeply, sing together in praise of friendship lasting forever
music......
We also drifted leisurely on the ripples all day long
But now we have flown apart like swallows
Separated by the vast ocean
Long live friendship, long live friendship, friends, long live friendship
Raise a glass and drink deeply, sing together in praise of friendship lasting forever
We were once of the same mind
Let us clasp hands tightly
Let us raise a glass and drink freely
Friendship lasts forever
Long live friendship, long live friendship, friends, long live friendship
Raise a glass and drink deeply, sing together in praise of friendship lasting forever
Long live friendship, long live friendship, friends, long live friendship
Raise a glass and drink deeply, sing together in praise of friendship lasting forever
Long live friendship, long live friendship, friends, long live friendship
Raise a glass and drink deeply, sing together in praise of friendship lasting forever
