Readers may have noticed that visiting Scientific Space has been somewhat unstable over the past few days. This is because I have been making adjustments to the website during this time.
The scope of these adjustments is quite large, though it may be difficult to notice from the surface. I am recording them here as a memento. The main updates include:
Theme Optimization: The
geekgtheme used by this blog is actually quite old. Last year, I paid someone to perform the first major upgrade, which added responsive design. These past few days were mainly spent resolving some legacy issues with the theme, including fine-tuning image displays, margins, and typography.Internal Optimization: Significantly reduced the use of plugins. Basic functions (such as the site directory and archive pages) have been embedded directly into the theme, reducing dependency on plugins and improving usability.
Article Optimization: This was also a legacy issue. In the early days of writing, I was quite casual with the formatting; the HTML code and LaTeX code for formulas were often non-standard. As a result, the display quality of early articles was quite poor. Consequently, I did something quite "crazy"—I went through all 800+ articles! After more than two days, I have basically fixed most of the issues in the early articles.
Domain Optimization: The website now fully utilizes HTTPS! The site is hosted on Alibaba Cloud, but Alibaba Cloud has a self-righteous monitoring system that blocks some of my pages for no reason. To counter Alibaba Cloud’s malicious blocking, I had to switch to HTTPS. Of course, this will not affect regular access for readers, as the redirection to HTTPS is automatic. Currently, both domains
spaces.ac.cnandkexue.fmautomatically redirect to HTTPS.
