Reason for Reposting: Today’s Deepin and YLMF (now renamed to StartOS) are already developing their own Linux distributions, but they were once the giants of GhostXP production. My middle school years, specifically the era before 2009, were the golden age of GhostXP. I also joined those ranks back then and published some GhostXP works. Later, as times changed, XP gradually exited the stage, and I left that scene as well, which allowed me to focus on science. However, almost all of my computer knowledge was accumulated during that period. To complete the production and promotion of a system, one needs to understand a vast array of computer technologies, and I received thorough training through it. The people listed below were all mythical figures in the GhostXP world at that time. Some I did not know personally, but their names were legendary; others I was fortunate enough to add on QQ back then. This article is actually quite old, but it is still worth reminiscing about those times as a memory of my middle school years.
Legendary Figures in the Packaging World:
Sixing Bugai (Stubborn) — Also known as "Sixing," an elder of the packaging world who laid the foundation for the Chinese packaging community. He pioneered the S&R&S intelligent packaging system. He was a technician highly regarded even by foreigners (known as a legend of a generation).
JUJUMAO — Also known as "Piggy Cat," the administrator of the JUJUMAO forum. Personally, I estimate him to be the first person to create original packaging tools after Sixing. His technology was robust and his systems were solid. He developed many new technologies himself and seems to be the first person to propose the DllCache theory.
Yang Haijun — A selfless contributor and the earliest person to create packaging tutorials on the network (his technical principle videos are considered classics), allowing everyone to learn how to package their own systems. It is no exaggeration to say he was the first to break the "secrets" of packaging via the tool-based mode.
Climbing — Also known as "Stone," a moderator of the Dragon Kingdom (Longdiguo) technical forum. His technical skills were very strong. His original Ghost hardware cleaning tool was circulated for a long time, and he was extremely dedicated to his work at the Empire. His "Stone’s Questions" help threads assisted countless people (you can tell by the number of replies to his help posts).
Lengmianren (Cold-faced Man) — Formerly a high-level manager with significant experience and technical skill at the Dragon Kingdom technical forum. I only knew of him indirectly in the past; later, he independently developed S&R&S and stood on his own.
Zai Qiutian Guaiwan (Turning in Autumn) — Also known as "Autumn," the founder of the Autumn Technical Forum. He was the first person to release self-created packaging tools to the public. He is currently a manager at System Player. His technical strength is profound.
Xiaobing (Soldier) — A senior member and moderator of the Deepin Technical Forum. In the early days, he was engaged in the production and release of Deepin Lite GHOST versions. Later, he independently researched and learned AutoIt, worked hard, and created his own intelligent packaging tools. The speed of his transformation and learning was astonishing, and the effort he put in was unimaginable.
skyfree (Sky) — One of the founders of the FreeSky forum and a soul figure of the open-source spirit. It is no exaggeration to say he is a leading figure in China’s packaging technology forums. He pioneered many original and innovative technologies with outstanding technical strength. His selfless spirit in releasing source code on the forum for everyone to learn is worth studying by all! Representing the open-source spirit, "Jiji" and "Lanbao" are also included here.
Xi (PreTooler Author) — The author of the PreTooler intelligent packaging tool and the first person to release a "no-logo" packaging tool. The performance of his packaging tools was outstanding, and his spirit of constantly fixing and updating tool functions and bugs was admirable. He was also a very approachable senior technician.
Feibing (Bandit Soldier) — Also known as "Tufei," a senior system creator. He had rich experience in system production. The rapid recovery system he previously produced was the fastest in history (100 seconds) in terms of speed, using unconventional non-packaging technology! One can imagine his technical strength.
Donghai — The creator of the "Computer Company" (Diannao Gongsi) systems. His systems had the highest penetration rate in the country. Based on this point alone, his experience in producing "Installation Editions" (Zhuangji Ban) was admirable. Although the tools he used were from Dragon Kingdom, he performed post-processing on them, resulting in a higher system installation success rate. Everyone wanted to learn his method for modifying tool logos.
Ximen Dage (Big Brother Ximen) — An experienced computer professional and the chief system production master of the Dragon Kingdom technical forum. His systems were stable and reliable, making them the top choice for GHOST systems at the time.
Yanjiu Sengren (Research Monk) — Also known as "Monk," from Xinyu, Jiangxi. He was a master who grew through hard work and learning. He taught people that if you don’t understand, you must ask, and if you don’t know, you must learn.
Muniao (Wood Bird) — A former technician at Dragon Kingdom and a master of drivers. The driver packages he produced had the highest usage, penetration, and modification rates. The quality of his drivers was extremely high. Later, he also developed a packaging tool himself; his technical potential was limitless.
Mutouyun (Wood Cloud) — A technician at Dragon Kingdom, skilled in VB. The systems and small software utilities he built were once favorites of many. I don’t have much direct information about him.
Xiannairi — Also known as "Fresh Milk Day," a researcher with a very unique personality. His unique theoretical knowledge and innovative spirit were enviable. His understanding of packaging was independent and top-tier, with many original technologies. He was the first person to create a G-recovery system without packaging. His depth of knowledge in packaging was unfathomable. He rarely produced G-systems (he released one beta version to test his new technology); a true expert.
Qimao (Seven Cats) — A moderator of the FreeSky forum and an emerging technical talent. His original tools were unique and performed excellently! He embodied the open-source style of the FreeSky forum and was a diligent technician. He was very approachable.
realhyg — A moderator of the FreeSky forum and a figure who made significant contributions to the packaging world. Currently, the SRS drivers in most major tools use the driver packages he independently collected. He changed the old mode of packaging systems; now, the driver modes of major tools have almost all transitioned to the Microsoft method. His labor was selfless, and his contribution was immeasurable. He allowed more people to install G-systems on new machines. It is no exaggeration to call him the number one person for SRS drivers.
Ziyou de Feng (Free Wind) — A moderator of the FreeSky forum with a deep understanding of drivers. He selflessly released his collected and organized "Universal Driver Pack" (Wanneng Qu Dong Bao). Currently, the penetration rate of his driver packs is very high! From a chronological perspective, it is no exaggeration to call him "Muniao the Second."
TiGer-X — Also known as "Tiger," a technician at Yulinmufeng (YLMF) Computer Co., Ltd., representing his team here. He had profound packaging technology and high experience. He was the developer of the Yulinmufeng packaging tools. The ONEKEY and DIY optimization tools developed by YLMF are classic green (portable) utilities with very high download counts!
Chen Hui — An early member of the Dragon Kingdom technical forum and a programmer. His DllCache recovery and backup tool had the most users. He was proficient in multiple computer languages.
fxzm — A member of the Dragon Kingdom technical forum, known as a "myth" at the time. The GHOST systems he produced were still sought after by many enthusiasts years later. His G-systems were once known for having the highest recovery success rate. Many people still study his finished systems.
Luo Wen — From Luoba, Diaofang, Xingning. He started his business in 2005 and was 26 years old at the time of writing. He was the CEO of Yulinmufeng (YLMF) and the chief system master of YLMF. This webmaster was low-profile, technically skilled, and a very practical person, often referring to himself only as a website administrator. With excellent talent and related strength, he received high praise from a large number of users.
Lanqiu Meng Yinle Xin (Basketball Dream Music Heart) — Original name Zheng Guobin, young and promising. He was the former webmaster of the Maintenance Technology Forum and another technician for Tomato Garden (Fanqie Huayuan), as well as the producer of Tomato Garden G-systems. The Wingho backup and restore tool, the Tomato Garden packaging tool, etc., were all written by him.
Shendu Kongjian (Deep Space) — A quiet girl who wrote many posts, all of which were high-quality. Why? Because she had a very thorough understanding of Ghost systems. She came from Shanghai to study in Chongqing. This girl started researching and learning system packaging in early 2006, apprenticing under many masters including Big Brother Donghai (author of the Computer Company Special Edition), Autumn from the Deepin Technical Forum, Big Brother Ximen from Dragon Kingdom, Research Monk, and others. She studied Ghost packaging day and night and eventually achieved great success, establishing the IT Sisters (ITJIEMEI) technical forum to provide a brand-new learning and exchange platform for everyone. (She was very enthusiastic) — The leader of ITJIEMEI.
IT Shaoshuai (IT Young Marshal) — An extremely low-profile technician. Legend has it he was an engineer at a computer company, proficient in the maintenance of printers, copiers, and printing presses. He was a moderator for four sections of Carrot Home (Luobo Jiayuan) but was later kicked out after a dispute with the administrator. On November 5, 2009, he announced the successful birth of the Win7 Ghost, which was the first Chinese Win7 Ghost version. It is said he belongs to the post-90s generation and once revealed on the forum that he had switched careers to writing long-form novels.
