Tomorrow I will fly to Beijing to participate in the Peking University Astronomy Summer Camp.
Participating in the summer camp is a happy event, and I am full of joy. However, amidst the joy, there is a bit of sadness. The sadness is not about the camp itself, but a feeling of parting, a helplessness of not being able to see the person I want to see. Regardless, carrying these thoughts, I will participate well in this activity, hoping to gain more experience and insight. At the same time, it is a tour and introduction to Peking University—a university many dream of—serving as a beautiful prelude to next year’s college entrance examination.
On the other hand, the arrival of summer vacation means the end of the second year of high school. In fact, from the day the college entrance examination ended, we have already become “prospective Grade 12” students. Many people have discussed how to spend the final year, and many seniors have described the rigid life of Grade 12 to us. My answer is only five words: Grade 12, live well!
Not only live a fulfilling life but also live a unique one. I hate wandering around every day; my life should be like an irrational number, not a rational number. This applies to both study and life. Regardless, I will study hard while doing as many things I like as possible and pursuing what I yearn for. Some people always tell me that the most important task right now is the college entrance examination, and I should put aside personal interests and develop them after university. I just want to say: I am a timid person; although such a Grade 12 has a 1% chance of getting me good grades, it makes me lose 99% of my life. If that were the case, my future self would not forgive me. Starting only in university? That is nonsense. Don’t forget that what I pursue is not a diploma; what I hope for is to truly do scientific research. My start was already late enough; do you want me to stop? I don’t want to fall far behind. Although latecomers can catch up, it is very difficult, and for those who come even later, it becomes even harder!
Therefore, I long for a unique Grade 12: I won’t bury my head in work every day, nor will I be muddled; I will put most of my time into studying, a smaller portion into my interests, and leave some time to space out and daydream!
Yeah, that’s it. Just thinking about it makes me feel happy ^_^. I hope it can be realized.
Anyone with a dream is remarkable; where there is courage, there will be miracles!
