The 2011 High School Mathematics League has kicked off...
A few days ago, my math teacher approached eight of us from the two key classes to discuss participating in this year’s preliminary round of the Mathematics League. Everyone agreed to give it a try. At my strong request, two more students were added (one is my deskmate, and the other is a “genius” in my eyes). However, the teacher lacks experience in organizing this, whereas I had some experience from participating last year (originally it was meant for seniors, but as a sophomore back then, I somehow got involved and unexpectedly outperformed several seniors... ^_^). Consequently, the teacher handed over the task of tutoring the other nine students to me (a daunting task...).
In fact, I haven’t accumulated much knowledge specifically for math competitions; the mathematics I am most interested in can hardly be applied in such contests. Nevertheless, since we have signed up, we must prepare. Therefore, I searched online for the problems and answers of the High School Mathematics League from recent years. I am sharing them here for those who might need to download them.
