Today is 03.16. Originally, it was just an ordinary day, neither my birthday nor any holiday, but for me, it is a day to be remembered in my heart.
Three years ago today, I stepped into a computer technology forum called “Platinum Garden.” There, I learned a lot of IT knowledge, and my computer skills continuously improved... What was even more surprising was that the webmaster of that site, BoJone, was also a young man of sixteen or seventeen at the time, two years older than me. Under his influence, I roamed the internet and computer maintenance, and became a “computer expert” in the eyes of my classmates. But later, for various reasons, the webmaster closed the forum. After that, I moved through many forums, serving as a moderator, administrator, and so on.
Two years ago today, out of nostalgia for “Platinum Garden,” a partner and I jointly rebuilt the “Platinum Garden” forum. Together with many former management staff, we maintained it, and I changed my English name to BoJone, which I have used until now. The website’s development was very difficult at first, with only a few dozen visitors per day. After half a year of promotion, the website’s traffic increased, daily IPs reached thousands, and the registered members reached as many as 30,000! Even during a period of Microsoft’s anti-piracy storm, my website’s name appeared on the blacklist (just a bit of joking pride ^_^). That period represented the peak of my computer technology!
One year ago today, on the first anniversary of the re-establishment of Platinum Garden, I resolutely withdrew from the “Platinum Garden” website. Although the website continued for a few months after I left, it was eventually disbanded. The main reason for my withdrawal was not the pressure of Microsoft’s anti-piracy efforts, but to focus on scientific research. It turns out that after entering junior high school, I put too much energy into IT and neglected my childhood interest—science! Later, I finally returned to my focus on science and slowly found my original interest and dreams again.
Today, “Scientific Spaces” has also been established for one year. Whether it was the original “Science People Studio” or the current Scientific Spaces, they both embody the webmaster’s energy over the past year and witness the webmaster’s research and growth process. There are only a few hours left until March 17th. Days will always pass, but dreams never end. BoJone will continue to hold onto dreams and aspirations, striving to pursue his own life!
