Starting tomorrow, the 10-day Copenhagen Climate Change Conference will take place. I do not wish to say much more here, as there are already countless reports about it on the internet.
I only want to say one thing: This is almost the moment that decides the future of humanity! However, the prospects for this summit are not optimistic.
Three major camps (firstly the European Union; secondly the “Umbrella Group” led by the United States, including countries like Canada and Australia; and the 77 developing countries, including China) have already begun their power struggle. Regarding the issue of reducing emissions, developed countries are always reluctant to make contributions. I also want to ask: “Developed countries are the ’big brothers’ in the world most of the time, but if we are gone, who will you be a big brother to?”
Stop considering issues of economic development; money is not that important! Why should we pursue a pile of waste paper and abandon our friends?
According to the plan, this Copenhagen Summit will involve discussions on several issues, including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by developed countries by 2020, and how developing countries can prevent the growth of carbon emissions. Let us wait and see!
Whether it succeeds or fails, everything is just beginning!
