Now I am in my first year of high school, and I personally feel that my development is going quite well. Actually, everyone is a genius, a “thousand-li horse” (a person of great talent). The key is whether we encounter a “Bole” (a scout for talent). Fortunately, I met mine in the fifth grade—the math teacher I will never forget, Mr. Wu. Perhaps when others see him, their impression is just that of a messy old man in his fifties or sixties. However, in my heart, he is a great man! Because of him, I fell in love with mathematics, began walking my life’s path with caution, and wrote a series of chapters in my life!
The days of fifth and sixth grade are still vivid in my mind. Although five years have passed and many classmates have gone their separate ways or changed significantly—some even fading into obscurity—that period of time is still alive. It lives in my heart, and I believe it lives in the heart of every student from our fifth and sixth-grade classes.
Teacher, I remember receiving your guidance and inspiration in the fifth grade, and being deeply attracted by your teaching. I also haven’t forgotten that I received your punishments as well. All of it was so beautiful and profound. Under your guidance, I participated in the first mathematics competition of my life and won an award.
