Xinhua News Agency, Stockholm, October 3 — The annual Nobel Prize announcement ceremonies for this year will be held successively starting from October 5. Consistent with last year, the prize money for each Nobel Prize category this year remains 10 million Swedish Krona (approximately 1.4 million USD).
According to the Nobel Foundation, the specific announcement times for each Nobel Prize category this year are as follows:
Physiology or Medicine Prize: 09:30 GMT, October 5 (17:30 Beijing Time, October 5);
Physics Prize: 09:45 GMT, October 6 (17:45 Beijing Time, October 6);
Chemistry Prize: 09:45 GMT, October 7 (17:45 Beijing Time, October 7);
Literature Prize: 11:00 GMT, October 8 (19:45 Beijing Time, October 8);
Peace Prize: 09:00 GMT, October 9 (17:00 Beijing Time, October 9);
Economics Prize: 11:00 GMT, October 12 (19:00 Beijing Time, October 12).
Following tradition, the 2009 Nobel Prize award ceremonies will still be held on December 10 this year. Except for the Peace Prize ceremony, which is held in Oslo, the capital of Norway, the ceremonies for Physiology or Medicine, Physics, Chemistry, Literature, and Economics will all be held in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
